EPLA Presentation: Evaluating Contamination Reports

Last week Geo-Logix Principal, David Gregory, took part in the Environment and Planning Law Association (EPLA) seminar series presenting on ‘Evaluating Contamination Reports’. David condensed his experience in preparing and reviewing thousands of environmental assessment reports to help demystify the science of contamination and provide tips on evaluating environmental reports and pinpointing site risks. His presentation delivered

• an understanding of contaminant categories and risks presented by their toxicity and mobility;
• a brief overview of common methods used to find and quantify contamination (and how this goes wrong); and
• insights on evaluating environmental assessment reports and the most common problems to watch out for.

The EPLA aims to advance the knowledge and understanding of planning and environment laws among professionals and the community.The session was attended by solicitors and planners seeking to stay up to date with contemporary environmental practices.

Following the seminar, the EPLA welcomed the new Judge of the Land and Environment Court, Justice Tim Moore.
