How can you select a Consultant knowing that you are getting the technical expertise and value? Many Consultants can do the same scope of work for similar prices however the outcome between Consultants can be vastly different. At Geo-Logix we work with the Client to understand their objectives prior to preparing the scope of work. Once we have developed the scope of work we consult with the client to explain our methods, objectives and reasoning. We believe educating the client is good business sense which leads to long term relationships. Only when the Client is in agreement with the approach and understands its limitations and/or likely outcomes and is comfortable with that approach do we proceed. Geo-Logix staff are very enthusiastic about our profession and go to great lengths to keep the client informed and involved during and after the investigation process.

Often there is a balance between investigation cost, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements. Geo-Logix believes you need to be well versed in all aspects to consult at an expert level. Our intent at Geo-Logix is to save the Client money through technical savvy and innovation.

Hydropunch sampling, the drill rods are hydraulically pushed down to the water table to collect a groundwater sample for contamination assessment. In favorable geology you can get up to 15 groundwater samples a day making it a powerful tool for rapid site assessment. In addition to obvious advantages of size and space required to do this type of drilling, the real advantage of hydropunch sampling is you can characterize the contamination prior to installing permanent wells. By doing so you can place monitoring wells or remediation wells at strategic locations to maximize efforts and reduce overall well costs. If this investigation was done by the typical approach it would have taken a week just to get the wells in place.

Collecting a soil gas sample by US EPA methodology at a site where petrol in groundwater 3 meters below the surface had migrated underneath the fence beneath the neighboring residential property. Soil gas data was incorporated into a vapor transport model to evaluate whether the adjoining residents health was at risk from chronic exposure to petroleum vapors emitting from contaminated groundwater.

Site conceptual model: Groundwater modeling was used to demonstrate that petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater would attenuate to levels below guideline trigger values before it reached the environmental receptor. The results of modeling were used to demonstrate that groundwater remediaiton was not necessary saving the client the expense of cleanup.
