Geo-Logix
Pty Ltd is a specialist Environmental Risk
Management Consulting Firm providing advisory
services and project management to ensure
your environmental resources are issue directed
in consideration of risk tolerance and commercial
interests.
Geo-Logix
founding Director, David Gregory, is a Geologist
with over 16 years of professional experience.
His early days were spent conducting mineral
exploration throughout Australia and SE
Asia. Following a downturn in the mining
industry David moved to California and pursued
a career in Environmental Consulting, specializing
in Contaminated Land. He has extensive field
and technical experience in assessment of
soil and groundwater contamination, contamination
remediation, chemical fate and transport
modeling, human health risk assessment and
subsurface chemical vapor assessments. While
in the USA he held principal consulting
positions conducting contaminated land investigation,
remediation and risk assessments for independent
clients and multinationals such as Chevron
and Shell.
Environmental
standards in California are regarded as
the most stringent in the world. As a consequence
a high level of technical competency is
necessary. David was accredited by the California
Board of Geology and Geophysicists as a
Professional Registered Geologist. Certification
provided to competent professionals responsible
for reporting on geological and environmental
issues which had potential to impact public
health and the environment. In Australia,
David managed the NSW Division of a mid
sized national Environmental Consulting
Firm. He was the Principal Technical Lead
and National Risk Assessment/Modeling Coordinator.
The
most valuable skills David obtained while
in the US are his expertise in Risk Assessment.
Risk assessment is a scientific method,
endorsed by the USEPA and World Health Organization,
of determining what level of contamination
can be left in place without causing adverse
impacts to human health and the environment.
In almost all cases acceptable levels of
contamination derived by Risk Assessment
will be significantly less conservative
than what is presented in Environmental
Investigation Reports. Our technical experience
and field know how enables us to provide
advisory services which will reduce liability
and financial exposure by managing environmental
issues on a risk basis.
